A little addendum on inexpensive Hawaii vacations: my friend Cherie who runs the
Hale Hookipa Maui Bed and Breakfast has a blog now,
Hookipa Aikane: Home Sharing Friend on Maui Hawaii. She has all kinds of great ideas on cheap things to do while you're in Hawaii, and the small rooms in her Inn are a steal!

And, I now have a friend with a very affordable big island vacation rental in Kona! He happens to have purchased his organic Kona coffee farm from another old friend of mine! You can purchase his organic Kona coffee beans and read the whole story of how they refurbished the place at his organic Kona coffee farming blog.

I went to Hawaii a couple of years back it was fantastic, I spent many an hour on the beach or travelling around, and in the evening we would sit back and relax on what looked like garden furniture and sip our drinks. A truly unforgetable time.

Most people have this perception that a hawaii vacation is very expensive and for the rich and wealth. It's interesting that you are actually talking about an affordable Hawaii vacation.

I alway heard that Hawaii was so great but it felt like Hermosa Beach. I think Hawaii especially Honololu is moving away from its roots.

I was in Hawaii with my folks and the rest of the family and thought the trip was a success. The locals appear very healthy, young and fresh. I think Catelina, Fiji and Java are also good. I have been to Catelina but never to Fiji or Java.
